Sit on the deck overlooking the dam and the vineyard and enjoy the delicious wood fired pizzas and wine.

With a group of fellow candle makers, don you apron, select your jars, smell the delicious fragrances and start your candle making session. Enjoy your morning tea during the break, and feel free to have a wander through our lovely property.

You will learn the art of making candles from an experienced “Chandler”, so by the end of the class you will not only have finished candles to take home but also be confident enough to continue your new found talent.

While your candles are setting you will then drive down the road to Gisborne Peak Winery for their renowned Wood Fired Pizza lunch, washed down with class of their famous wine. Gaze over the dam, enjoy the view and relax. We’ll take care of everything.

After lunch, return to Events Victoria to collect your candles.

About Macedon Ranges Wines

The Macedon Ranges is on Melbourne’s door step, less than an hour from the city and elevated with the vineyard areas generally above 400 metres and up to 700 metres.

The vineyards are located along either side of the Great Dividing Ranges seeking the optimum interaction of soil, topography, aspect and climate. In general, it is a high winter rainfall area. With cool summers (the ranges attract weather), the ripening period is in the cool of autumn-delayed, slow and long- the latest vintage to occur anywhere in Australia.

The wines reflect the climate and topography. There is a diversity, but the predominant characters are a natural lively acidity and steely backbone; fine, intense but delicate fruit characters and soft tannins in the red wines. The balance of alcohol, acidity and fruit provide complexity and longevity, and make the wines a superb match for a wide range of food.
