Beginner’s Macrame Workshop

Make a Wall Hanging

Class size 8 – 10 people

3 hour class

Venue Gasworks Arts Park – Craft Room

I discovered macrame as a teenager and believe me that was a long time ago. The renewed interest in this art form means there is more to just making pot plant holders. They are now a unique wall art that you can create.

Make your own wall hanging with the traditional art of macramé. This class is for beginners and we will cover the basic knots.

Each piece can be quite individual so there is no pattern to follow. This will be  your original work, but we’ll be there to instruct and guide you. Who knew that tying knots could be so peaceful and therapeutic.

Once you know the basic skills, there are many options to expand your knot repertoire.

We’ll be using cotton fibres and when available natural timber (from our property in South Gisborne)  rather than dowels.

What you will get:

Learn a new skill and use them to create your own wall art using macramé
